SchoolDraw — Lottery Rules & Terms and Conditions
1. What is SchoolDraw?
SchoolDraw is a monthly subscription lottery run by Anytown Primary Parent Council to raise funds for Anytown Primary School, Anytown, United Kingdom. The lottery operates under a small-society lottery licence granted by Example Council. All money raised (after prizes and costs) goes directly to support the school.
2. Who can enter?
You must be 18 years old or over to enter SchoolDraw. Entry is open to anyone meeting this age requirement, including parents, school staff, and supporters of the school.
3. Entry and price
- Cost: £5 per entry per month.
- Multiple entries: You may hold more than one entry. The more entries you hold, the more chances you have to win — each entry is a separate chance in the draw and gives you a membership number.
- Membership numbers: Each entry is assigned its own permanent random membership number. You keep the same number(s) every month for as long as you are a member.
- Payment method: Monthly Direct Debit via GoCardless (our secure payment processor). We may also accept one-off card payments as a backup option if Direct Debit is not suitable for you.
- Subscription: Once set up, your Direct Debit will run automatically each month until you cancel.
4. Deadline for entry
Entries must be paid for before the draw date in that month to be eligible. Because a first Direct Debit can take around 6 working days to clear, a payment received after the draw date will be entered in the following month's draw.
5. The draw
- Frequency: Once per calendar month.
- Draw date: The 14th of the following month — each calendar month's paid entries are drawn on the 14th of the next month, allowing time for payments to clear.
- How it works: Winning numbers are selected at random using an automated, verifiable method. Every paid membership number is one equal chance — the more numbers you hold, the more chances you have.
- Transparency: The draw uses a published, re-checkable random seed. It is auditable and does not require a live public draw.
- Distinct winners: Three different people win each month; a single member cannot win more than one prize in the same draw.
6. Prizes
Three winners are drawn each month:
- 1st prize: 25% of that month's total entry income
- 2nd prize: 15% of that month's total entry income
- 3rd prize: 10% of that month's total entry income
Total prize pool: 50% of that month's gross entry income.
Remaining funds: The other 50% goes to Anytown Primary Parent Council for school expenses. (This meets the statutory minimum requirement of at least 20% of income going to the good cause.)
7. How winners are paid
- Winners are contacted directly and privately (by email) as soon as possible after the draw. On the public winners page we only ever show the winning number — never your name.
- We will ask how you'd like to receive your prize — usually bank transfer is quickest, but we can arrange other methods if needed.
- Prizes are paid from the Parent Council account within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 7 days of the draw).
8. Cancelling your subscription
- You can cancel at any time with no penalty by contacting hello@schooldraw.co.uk.
- Current month: If you cancel before the draw date, you will not be entered for that month. If you cancel after the draw but before payment, you will still be charged for that month (to be fair to other players).
- Once cancelled, your Direct Debit will stop.
9. Data protection
Your personal data (name, email, payment details) is collected and kept only to run the lottery, process payments, and contact winners. For full details of how your data is used, stored, and your rights, please see our Privacy Notice.
10. Responsible play
SchoolDraw is a fun way to support our school. If you have any concerns about lottery play or have questions, please contact hello@schooldraw.co.uk. Please gamble responsibly.
